MS 70-347 Exam Tips Quick summary

Finally, 70-347 been off my list. It hasn’t been that smooth after numbers of attempts finally I am able to crack it. This article will describe the experience I went through and the preparation that I took.

This article is not a study guide or exam resource material at all. The best resource I can think of is here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-332.aspx which is the official Microsoft recommended resource available free. Besides that, there is some online subscription-based site which offers video tutorials that target the exam specifically.

Here I will discuss some breakdown of the exams, some important topics and the preparation I did. I went through the video from the Microsoft site and an online video from a subscription-based online site. Microsoft tech online articles are very helpful if you can narrow down to topics especially in case of PowerShell commands this is very helpful.

Ok, enough words now let’s get to the real juice.

I am pretty sure not everything is covered, and this article can’t be a bible for the 70-347. There are a more to read. Few I can remember from my exams are Mailboxes (Equipment, Shared), mail flow rule, connection filter policy, use of telemetry, how to block a certain IP and allow other using policy. Group policy object, user policy object (used for running telemetry or any other service for multiple users).

One thing you must be very careful is many times there are answers in the exams. A question in a question might be an answer to another question. So, try reviewing all the answers. It’s good to look at the PowerShell commands (Mentioned in this article) so that you can identify the wrong cmdlets. Sometime there will be a tricky question like all these three PowerShell commands can be used to accomplish the same thing (PrimarySmtpAddress, EmailAddress WindowsEmailAddress). Try to get a free office 365 account from Microsoft which is normally available for 90 days for free. You can browse to the exchange online UI where you can learn many things that can ultimately help in the exam.

I hope reading through all this you have not wasted your time and it helps you in any amount to get the certification.
